Best Doc Holliday Quotes From The Movie 'Tombstone'

Doc Holliday's quotes are thrilling.

When Doc Holliday met Johnny Ringo, he immediately insulted Ringo which created a tense atmosphere. Wyatt Earp tried to mediate the misunderstanding by blaming Doc's alcohol consumption to be the reason behind his insults. However, Doc looks at Johnny Ringo and says in Latin, "In vino veritas" which means, "In wine there is truth". This was meant to signify that even though Doc Holliday was drinking, he still spoke the truth and knew his mind. To that, Johnny Ringo replied "Age quod agis" meaning "Do what you are doing". Doc kept the Latin conversation going by replying with "credat judaeus apella" which meant "Tell it to someone else, not me." Ringo patted his gun and said, "Ecentus stultorum magister" to warn that stupid people learned by experience while bright people knew how to avoid mistakes. Doc Holliday, unfazed by the threat smiled and replied "May he rest in peace" to warn Ringo that he would die if he threatened Doc Holliday.
